Liebherr HC1030 24-Inch Fridge-Freezer Repair

Liebherr refrigerator

Most common issues on this model

  1. Door panel alignment drifting so the seal no longer closes evenly
  2. Warm air behind the cabinet when the ventilation slot is blocked
  3. Evaporator frost from a stalled defrost cycle despite NoFrost
  4. Fan noise from the freezer or refrigerator side
  5. Gasket wear along the lower edge

At 24 inches wide, the HC1030 is the narrow combination unit that suits tight kitchens, apartments and bars, with a refrigerator section and a freezer section behind a cabinet panel. NoFrost means the freezer clears its own ice, so owners never scrape anything by hand.

The panel is the first thing we deal with. It comes off before any work, and its weight is what drags a hinge out of line over the years. After that we clear the ventilation slot, test the gasket all the way around, and listen to the fans. A narrow cabinet has little spare airflow, so a small blockage shows up fast.

You get the price in writing before work begins, and every repair carries our 30-day workmanship warranty.

HC1030HC1030 questions
Why does the door on my 24 inch unit not close by itself?

A door that stays open has a cabinet that is not level or a hinge sagging under the panel. We remove the panel, reset the hinge and level the unit. The gasket is checked in the same visit.

Does NoFrost mean I never see ice inside?

NoFrost removes the need to defrost by hand, but the unit still melts and drains ice from the evaporator on a timer. Visible frost on the back wall means that cycle is failing or a door is leaking air.

The unit runs warm only on hot afternoons. Is the cabinet the cause?

Yes. Without enough ventilation space the condenser cannot shed heat in hot weather. We measure the gap, clear dust and confirm the fan runs, then advise on any cabinet change.
