On Liebherr US NoFrost units such as the HCB 1560, the freezer display reads out only temperatures below freezing. When the freezer section is warmer than that, two dashes show instead of a number. You will see them at start-up for about three to five hours, after a power failure and while SuperCool is on. They disappear without any action once the freezer has cooled enough to give a reading.
1. Let the unit run with doors closed for five hours. 2. Check whether SuperCool is on and wait for it to finish. 3. Keep drawers closed and avoid loading lots of warm food. 4. If dashes remain after a full day, or the freezer food is soft, call us.
The freezer display only shows temperatures below freezing. Dashes take the place of a number during start-up, after a power failure and during SuperCool, until the section gets cold enough.
Plan on three to five hours after start-up or an outage with the doors closed. Loading a lot of warm food can stretch that, so give it a little more time before you worry.
If a full day has passed, doors were kept shut and the display still shows dashes, the freezer is not cooling. That is the moment to call us for a diagnosis with a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
