What Alarm LED / flashing display means

On Liebherr US NoFrost combined units such as the HCB 1560 and CBS 2062, the temperature display and the alarm LED start flashing when a compartment gets too warm. A door left open and a big load of fresh food are the situations the alarm is designed around, but an actual cooling problem produces the same picture. The flashing stays until the cause has been removed, so it keeps asking for attention.

Common causes of Alarm LED / flashing display

  • A door or drawer left open or not latched
  • Warm fresh food just placed inside
  • Door gaskets that no longer seal
  • A cooling problem in the unit that a technician must confirm
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Shut all doors and drawers firmly and check for items holding them open. 2. Think back: did you load a lot of warm food? Allow a few hours for it to cool. 3. Wipe the door gaskets and look for gaps. 4. If the display is still flashing after half a day with nothing wrong, move perishables to a cooler and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • Door and load causes you can fix yourself, but a flashing display that stays on after both are ruled out needs a technician with instruments.
  • Food safety depends on a quick diagnosis, because warm storage shortens how long milk, meat and leftovers last.
  • Taking apart panels is unsafe and voids our ability to guarantee the repair.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Alarm LED / flashing displayAlarm LED / flashing display questions
Why are the temperature and the alarm LED flashing on my CBS 2062?

The unit is warning you that a compartment is too warm. Common reasons are an open door, a gasket gap, or a large amount of fresh food. It will keep flashing until the cause is gone.

How do I stop the flashing?

Remove the cause: close the doors, let new food cool, and keep openings short. As the compartment returns to its set temperature the flashing ends on its own, so nothing needs to be pressed.

When is the flashing a real repair?

If it continues for half a day or more with doors shut and no new food, the unit is not cooling properly. At that point we diagnose the cooling system and tell you the price before any work.
