Moving a Liebherr wine cabinet takes planning to protect the bottles, the cabinet and your back. Here is how to prepare, transport and restart it.
Whether you are moving across Houston or just across the house, a wine cabinet is heavy, awkward and full of fragile contents. A little preparation prevents damage.
Keep the cabinet upright whenever possible. Tipping it can shift oil in the cooling system, and the manufacturer’s instructions describe how long to wait before restarting if it was moved on its side. Use a dolly with straps, protect corners and glass, and get help. Never carry a cabinet by the door or handle.
Do not try to remove or lift a built-in column without help, and never disconnect a gas or water line unless you are qualified. If the cabinet makes new noises, will not cool, or shows a code on the display after the move, stop and call for an inspection instead of repeatedly restarting it.
We can check the cabinet after your move and confirm it is cooling properly. See our wine cooler repair page or the communities we serve. We provide a written price before work and a 30-day workmanship warranty.
