The HC1060 gathers all the options in the 24-inch integrated line: PremiumPlus, SoftClosing, an IceMaker and the right-hand hinge. Each adds a part that can wear, so a unit of this age is best checked as a set rather than for one problem alone.

We check how the door closes before anything else. If the damper has weakened, the door stops short and the gap lets humid air reach the freezer. The IceMaker valve and fill tube are tested next, with a flow reading at the valve. We then look at the defrost heater, the fans and the LED lighting, which is on its own circuit.

How is the HC1060 different from the HC1050?

It adds PremiumPlus features: the SoftClosing system and LED lighting. Both have an IceMaker and right hinge. The extra damper is the part we test when the door stops short.

Should I worry if the door stops an inch from closed?

Yes. It is a sign the damper is losing its pull, and that gap lets humid air in. We test the closing action and replace the damper if needed.

Why is the ice smaller than before?

Scale narrows the water valve, so each fill is short. We measure flow at the valve, clean the inlet screen, and replace the valve if the flow stays low, then confirm the next batch of ice.
