A built-in Liebherr column that drifts open or will not seal can be caused by panel weight, leveling or the gasket. Here is how we sort it out.
Built-in and integrated Liebherr columns sit flush in the cabinetry, so a door that swings back open a half inch is easy to notice and easy to ignore. Please do not ignore it. A door that does not seal lets warm, humid air in, and in Houston that quickly leads to frost, sweating and a compressor that works much harder than it should.
Close the door slowly and watch the gap along the latch side. Clean the gasket with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap, then dry it. Slide a thin sheet of paper in several spots around the door. If it pulls out with no resistance in one area, the seal is not touching there.
Please do not adjust hinge screws on a paneled door yourself. The door is heavy, and a slipped panel can damage the cabinetry or hurt you.
We inspect the gasket, hinges, leveling and panel load, and we tell you what is needed before we begin. If your cabinet maker needs to be involved, we explain exactly what to ask for.
