NoFrost models clear frost through a defrost cycle, so buildup usually points to a worn door seal, a door left slightly open or a problem in the defrost system. We check the seal and airflow first, since those are the simplest fixes.
If it still has ice crystals and felt cold, it is generally fine to refreeze; if it fully thawed and warmed, discard it. Once power is back we confirm the freezer reaches its set temperature again.
Many households try it, but heat makes the compressor work harder and shortens its life. Units are rated for a range of room temperatures, so check your manual's limits. We can clean coils and test performance if yours lives in a garage.
