Liebherr C5250 Combined Fridge-Freezer Repair

Liebherr refrigerator

Most common issues on this model

  1. Frost on the freezer evaporator where the NoFrost cycle no longer finishes
  2. Cold air that does not reach the fresh-food section because a fan has slowed
  3. Door gasket wear on either compartment
  4. EasyFresh drawer that feels warm or collects condensation

The C5250 is a combined fridge-freezer with EasyFresh and NoFrost, a two-door cabinet in which the freezer sits under or over the refrigerator and each section is controlled separately. It is found in family kitchens, rental units and secondary kitchens that need a full-size refrigerator without a built-in cutout.

NoFrost is where we look first when it loses temperature. A heater clears the evaporator, a fan carries cold air into the fresh-food side, and a damper or duct hands it over. When ice covers the coil, the refrigerator warms while the freezer still feels cold.

The EasyFresh drawer is judged against the rest of the fresh-food section: if its air is off, the problem sits upstream with the fan or sensor. After that we test the gaskets and clean the condenser. A written price comes before work, and the repair is covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty.

C5250C5250 questions
The freezer is cold but the refrigerator is warm. What does that mean?

Cold air is not reaching the fresh-food side, which points to a frozen coil, a slow fan or a blocked air path. We inspect the evaporator first and measure both sections.

What is EasyFresh in this fridge-freezer?

It is a fresh-food drawer feature of the model. We treat it as part of the refrigerator section and test its air supply and sensor if the drawer runs warm.

Why do I find ice on the back wall of the freezer?

Ice there means the defrost cycle is not finishing, or the door lets in humid air. We test the defrost heater, the sensor and the gasket in that order.
