Frozen lettuce or icy berries in a Liebherr refrigerator often come from settings or airflow, not a broken part. Learn what to adjust first and when to call.
Finding crisp greens turned to ice is frustrating, and it is one of the more common questions we hear from Liebherr owners. The good news is that the cause is often something you can adjust in a few minutes.
Cold air enters the fresh-food area from the back or top, depending on the model. Anything pressed against that area gets the coldest air and can freeze first. Leafy vegetables, soft fruit and sealed drinks are the usual victims.
If your refrigerator has BioFresh drawers, they run close to freezing on purpose. They are meant for meat, fish and certain produce, not for everything. Delicate vegetables may do better in the standard crisper. If a drawer feels much colder than its label suggests, tell us the model number and what you stored.
A temperature sensor that reads wrong, a damper that stays open, or a control problem can all push the cabinet too cold. You may notice frost on the back wall, water under the crisper, or a compressor that rarely stops. In that case, please avoid repeatedly turning the dial, which can mask the pattern we need to see.
We test the sensors, the airflow and the cooling cycle, then give you a written price before work starts. Visit our refrigerator repair page to book, and see the service area to confirm we cover your zip code. Work is backed by a 30-day warranty.
