A blank display or buttons that do nothing can come from power, a lock setting or the control board. Here is how to tell which, and what to avoid.
When the display on a Liebherr refrigerator goes dark, or the touch controls stop responding, the first worry is that the unit has stopped cooling. Sometimes it has, and sometimes it has not. A few quick checks can tell you which.
Open the door and listen. Feel for cold air and look at the interior light. If the compartment is still cold and the compressor or fan runs, the cooling system may be fine and the problem may lie in the display alone. If everything is warm and silent, power is the main question.
Please do not pull the unit out and open the electronics panel. A refrigerator holds mains power inside the cabinet. And avoid repeated unplugging, since every restart stresses the board and can hide a pattern we need to see.
If the display stays dark, flickers, or the unit has no response after these checks, we test the power supply, the wiring, and the control board. We explain what we find and send a written price before any work. See our refrigerator repair page, then confirm your neighborhood in the service area list. Repairs carry a 30-day warranty.
